Why Anping

The Steel Grating Capital of China

Anping County in Hebei Province produces the majority of China's wire mesh — and is also the largest steel grating manufacturing hub in China. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all calculators free?

Yes. All 6 calculators on SteelGratingCalculator are completely free with no signup, no login, and no time limits.

What standards do the calculators use?

The weight calculator follows GB/T 12755-2008 steel density values. The load capacity calculator supports NAAMM MBG 531 (US) and BS 4592 (UK/Commonwealth) — switchable with one click.

What is the standard panel size for steel grating?

The most common Chinese export size is 6000 × 1000 mm. US sizes follow NAAMM standards (often 24" × 96"). Australian sizes often use 1200 mm widths per AS/NZS 1576.

How accurate are the weight calculations?

Typical accuracy is ±2–3% for standard welded bar grating. For serrated bars, twist bars, or end banding, allow an additional 2–5% for the steel removed or added.

What is the most common bearing bar specification?

25×5mm bearing bars at 30mm centre-to-centre pitch is the global standard for medium-duty industrial use. Lighter duty uses 20×3mm; heavy duty uses 40×5mm or 50×5mm.

Do the factories export to my country?

Yes. Anping factories regularly export by sea FCL and LCL to Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and North America. Most can provide commercial invoices, packing lists, and test certificates.

Do you handle transactions?

No. We connect buyers with matched Anping factories. All negotiations, contracts, payment, and quality control are between you and the factory directly.

Is galvanized grating heavier than plain grating?

Yes. Hot-dip galvanizing adds approximately 3–5% to the panel weight (standard coating 610 g/m² per ISO 1461). The FOB price calculator includes a galvanized weight toggle.
